Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College has come into existence in the year 2005 fulfilling the holy wish of the great saint. This academic multidisciplinary hospital of the college is a non commercial venture and is equipped in a ways which are yet to be available in other hospital in Bangladesh.

Prof. (Dr.) Md. Saiful Islam earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 1985 from Sher-E-Bangla Medical College, Barishal. Following graduation, he began his professional carrier as Assistant surgeon (Bangladesh civil service) in Sher-E-Bangla Medical College, Barishal from November, 1985 to November, 1986 then Joined as Medical officer Mollahat Upozilla Health Complex & Gazirhat Union Sub-center, Khulna from June, 1988 to September, 1989.
In November, 1993 he Joined as an Assistant Registrar in Medicine department, Dhaka Medical College and worked up to November, 1995. Then he joined as Junior consultant, Chest Medicine in Tuberculosis and Chest clinic, Chuadanga from December, 1995 to August,1996.
In August, 1996 he Joined as an Medical officer in Cardiology department, National institute Cardiovascular Disease(NICVD), Dhaka and worked upto August, 2000. Then he was promoted as Assistant Professor in Cardiology, National Institute Cardiovascular Disease(NICVD), Dhaka and worked from May, 2001 to May,2004. He also worked as an Assistant Professor in Cardiology department, National Center for Rheumatic Fever Control & Prevention of Heart Disease, Dhaka from May, 2004 to October ,2004.
He Completed his postgraduation in DTCD course in 1993 from National Institute of Diseases of the Chest & Hospital (NIDCH), Dhaka. He obtained MD in Cardiology from National Institute Cardiovascular disease (NICVD), Dhaka in 2000. He also completed his Fellowship (FACC) American College of Cardiology in 2007 and FRCP (Edin), United Kingdom(UK) in 2016.
After leaving Government Service Prof. (Dr.) Md. Saiful Islam joined Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital, Enayetpur, Sirajgonj as an Associate Professor & HOD in the Cardiology department on 02/10/2004 to 18/05/2010. Then he was promoted as Professor of Cardiology on 19/05/2010. From 2004 to now he has been working as HOD in the Department of Cardiology Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College. On 5th April 2014 he took his responsibility as Principal in Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College to till now.
Prof. (Dr.) Md. Saiful Islam experiences in both non-invasive & Clinical Cardiology (ECG, Echocardiogram, Trans-esophageal echocardiogram, Stress echo, ETT, Holter monitoring ECG) also Invasive Cardiology (coronary angiogram, Right heart catheterization, Angioplasty, Coronary stenting, Temporary and Permanent Pacemaker implantation, Valvuloplasty & Peripheral angiogram) in National institute Cardiovascular Disease(NICVD), Dhaka for seven years. He has practical experience both Clinical and Intervention Cardiology in Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital.
Prof. (Dr.) Md. Saiful Islam has active participations & scientific research paper presentation in both national & international seminar in Cardiology. He had training in Cardiology in India, Singapore & Germany. He has approximately twenty Publication and research article in different national & international journal.
He is an active member of Bangladesh Society Of Cardiology and American College of Cardiology.
